- Sound Theory and Foundation: This module covers the fundamentals of sound and helps students gain a strong foundation that supports learning in further and more advanced topics. Students gain an understanding of how sound behaves in different environments, and how to manage this effectively. Understanding the basics of sound properties, sound wave propagation and its acoustic nature is important and this module gives you the insights into these at a deeper level.
- DAW 1 - Cubase: Get hands-on with Cubase, one of the industry leading digital audio workstations (DAWs). You will learn to navigate the software interface, record, edit, and utilise its powerful capabilities for music production. This module will guide you through the basics and set the stage for more complex projects. As an outcome, you’ll be comfortable creating, recording, editing and producing your own tracks in Cubase.
- Digital Console - Midas M32: Dive into the world of digital mixing with the Midas M32 console. This module covers everything from setup, signal routing, working with digital effects and advanced mixing techniques. Student’s will gain practical experience in managing live and studio sound employing this console. Students also learn to leverage the M32's capabilities and produce high-quality audio, making you adept at handling professional equipment and in becoming one of the most sought and after versatile audio engineers that comes equipped with the know-how of the practical operation and its usable knowledge.
- Microphones and Recording: Explore the intricacies of microphones and recording techniques in this comprehensive module. Understand the different types of microphones and their applications. Learn how to position microphones to capture the best sound in various recording scenarios. Develop skills in recording methods that will help you achieve pristine audio quality for any project. Explore from the wide range of microphones available at the institute and make the most of the state of the art inventory that is open for all students to utilise.
- Ear Training and Song Mixing: Sharpen your auditory skills with focused ear training exercises, required to develop critical listening skills, essential to one’s successful career as an audio engineer. This module will help you develop a keen ear for identifying frequency ranges of instruments, assess sound stage balance, stereo width, dynamic and transient nuances, and other critical elements of the sound stage.
